Study Design: The study will last up to 26 days; it will enroll a total of 20 healthy males and females aged 18 to 65. The subjects will have a screening assessment to be qualified for the study according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. If you meet the criteria to be included in the study there will be an admission period for 2 nights and 3 days followed by an outpatient visit 3 days after the last dose of the study drug.
Study Objective: this research study aims to investigate the safety and tolerability in healthy volunteers of the new botanical drug CDD-2101 that is being developed to treat constipation. As well it will identify the pharmacokinetic profile of CDD-2101, which is the process of measuring concentrations of the study drug in your blood over time following the administration of the study drug

About the study drug: The formulation of CDD-2101 is the same as a classic Chinese herbal formulation MaZiRenWan (MZRW), which has been used in China since approximately 200 AD. CDD-2101 contains herbs such as: hemp seed, rhubarb, bitter apricot seed, officinal magnolia bark, white peony root and immature orange fruit which is stir-fired with wheat bran,, dextrin and magnesium stearate. You may also have a chance to receive placebo which contains caramel coloring, riboflavin, citric acid, sucrose octaacetate and dextrin.
